The document that sets what you are being paid for a load, and on what terms.
A broker sends a rate confirmation once you have agreed to take a load. It names the rate, the pickup and delivery, the appointment times, the equipment, and any accessorials they have agreed to pay.
It is the contract for that load. If detention, layover or a TONU fee is not written on it, you will have a hard time collecting it later. Read the whole thing before you sign — the rate is the part people check and the terms underneath are the part that costs them.
